I am so looking forward to this festival, When I tell you set up is happening as I type. I'm looking out my window with great anticipation

Alright NAH

Mickey known to many as Bon Ton Mickey needs some #ZydecoSoul love and prayers, Bon Ton Mickey was the very first Zydeco Artist I saw perform live in Spring Texas about 16 yrs ago.
Moving to Texas after being in the Bay area for so long, I was reminded of how much of my culture I truly missed.

Sending prayers and positive energy to this brother and his family.

Swinging 7 Series Launches of with A Swinging Success

As posted earliert this month, Charles Labbe' and The Church Point Louisiana Housing Authority kicked off their tribute music series. This initial tribute was an opportunity to pay it forward to the members of the popular band out of  Church Point, "The Swinging 7."

The community was invited to come out and enjoy this free event and all food and drink sales were donated to the local St Judes Children's research Hospital.
Watching these gentleman play with such pride and enthusiasm was more than one would wish for. I myself asked the question, "Where have these guys been?"

Original band leader Al Willams stole the show, however he could not have done it with the talent supported by that band.

WHAT A SHOW.!!!!

This series will continue.  I ask that you guys keep your eyes and ears open. Church Point Louisiana has seven of Louisiana's best kept secrets and they are swinging. Horns, bass, vocals, and all.

The evenings performance got started with one of Louisiana's most enthusiastic Cajun bands "Je Connais Pas" and when I tell you the fiddle and accordion players showed their tale feathers.

Not only is this a great opportunity for the talent but it is also an opportunity for local residents and businesses to connect and makees this town shine the light that eluminates in Louisianas Acadia Parish.

California accordionist Andre’ Thierry has the honor of attending and participating in this years’ International Akkordeon (Accordion) Festival held annually in Germany. Akkordeonale provides an opportunity for artist around the globe to tour together and share their musical styles, talents and cultures on one stage. It’s rare that accordion artist from multiple cultures are provided with a platform allowing them to come together on stage and share such a unique celebration of music and sound.

This year’s Akkordeon Festival will be the first time in its now eighth years’ history, to include an accordion artist from the United States. Akkordeonale 2016 kicks off March 30, 2016 in Karlsruhe Germany and continues throughout Germany the entire month of April into the first week of May, ending on Wednesday May 4th.

Thierry is a legendary artist in both Zydeco and Blues music internationally. His musical talents reach far beyond traditional Zydeco and Blues but also includes genres such as jazz, rock and hip-hop. Thierry has and continues to be an extraordinary contributor to the preservation of the Creole and Zydeco music culture.

On this tour, Thierry will be gracing the stages with other well-known accordion artist from Sweden, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and The Netherlands.

When asked what does this opportunity mean to him and how does this tie into his long term desires as an artist, Thierry replied; “I’m about the culture first, this is about me spreading the Creole culture from Louisiana and hopefully picking up and adding some of their styles of music to mine.

Lastly this is making me accessible to people overseas and who've been watching me since I was 15”. (Andre’ Thierry)

"New Western Club" Willis, Tx

Doing a little line dancing with one of Louisiana's most talented artist and one of America's Favorites "New Cupid"

Zydeco Soul's Toni Richard can not be seen in the photos because, she just can't seem to get those line dances. On the other hand, local Dj and Zydeco Band leader, Fred Bell with "Platinum Players Zydeco Band" along with his entourage didn't miss a beat. I'm thinking, is bringing back the "Zydeco"
